Residential Engineering Services

We offer a variety of residential structural engineering services, from structural home inspections to renovation and new structure design.
Whether you’re buying, selling, expanding, or repairing your home, most of our residential services begin with an initial consultation before scheduling a structural home inspection.
Structural Home Inspection Process
Before we even visit your home, our structural inspections begin with an initial consultation over the phone or email. We'll discuss your project needs and any areas of concern. After the consultation, our engineers will visit your home for a full on-site structural inspection.
During our structural inspections, our engineers will review any existing structural issues, such as:
foundation cracks
water damage
sagging roofs
bowed walls
uneven floors
Drywall cracks
We'll look for the potential causes of these issues, as well as anything that could cause future structural issues, like improper grading around your home and poor drainage.
After the structural home inspection, you'll receive a signed and stamped report from our engineers detailing their findings, recommended repairs, and preventive measures to prevent future structural issues.
Home Renovation Analysis and Design
Our engineers can create detailed structural plans for new homes and additions, including framing, foundation, and load-bearing wall designs that ensure safety and compliance with local building codes.
We can also provide drawings and assessments of home renovation projects to confirm that structural changes, like removing a wall, adding ventilation for an HVAC system, or installing solar panels on the roof, are safe and feasible.
If you've contacted us for a planned renovation or addition, our on-site evaluation includes either a full or partial structural inspection where we'll review the location of the proposed renovation and take measurements.
After the structural evaluation, we'll draft the technical drawings and calculations you'll need for construction, including a list of required project materials, and send you the signed and stamped structural designs for the project.
Ultimately, our goal for any residential project is to ensure your home's structure is built to withstand the elements and wear over time, keeping you and your family safe.
